What customers say?

“ Very tasty food and friendly staff. The lightly cured mackerel had a great texture and the dish had a nice balance of flavors, if lacking a bit of brightness. Meatballs on labneh were phenomenal. Pork was cooked nicely but the dish as a whole felt a bit tame and less playful than the rest. Chocolate crémeux with hazelnuts and strawberries was class. Would definitely recommend ”

“ loveliest hole in the wall along dumbarton road. looks extremely unassuming on the outside, but the atmosphere inside was amazing. came here after trying to find a restaurant around the area for a cute date night and it definitely met our expectations. while the scallop carpaccio was kinda mid, my partner and i will 100% becoming back for just for the sea trout. we’ll definitely be returning to try their new menu (which changes p frequently!) ”

“ Absolutely stunning selection of European cuisine with fresh pasta dishes. Service was really polite and kind. I recommend everyone give the goat's cheese custard starter a try. The coley was superb, and the cavatelli pasta had the perfect mouthfeel. All dishes were wonderful. We were recommended 2-3 plates per person, ended up spending roughly 30GBP per person with two large bottles of sparkling water and 8 dishes total. Definitely filling, and definitely worth sharing every plate around! The atmosphere was nearly perfect, but the music choice was surprisingly laid-back compared to how upmarket the meal presentation is. ”

“ Amazing Monday tasting menu, 8 courses to share for 25£ pp. The goats cheese custard with basil and focaccia was incredible. Good portions and alternative options if needed. The Chocolate cremeux with smoked almonds was fabulous. Nice staff and comfortable seating. Just the lights are a bit too harsh in the back. ”

“ It was my first time at eighty eight and really liked it! The food is very interesting and fresh. We were a group of 4 and we tried a lot of dishes, all were great! The tagliatelle with wild mushroom maybe doesn't work so well as others for a sharing plates, but was nevertheless delicious. Great staff and vibe too! Will definitely be back! ”

“ We had a wonderful meal at this small but cozy restaurant. The food was excellent - bold and full flavours. We love a sharing concept and had 10 plates in total for our group of four. The plates came out at a steady pace, we never felt rushed. Small but good wine selection. The staff was exceptionally friendly and welcoming. We went to other, more expensive restaurants in Glasgow but this was by far our favorite. We spent 245 pounds which included 3 bottles of wine - a very fair price. Absolutely recommend this spot, we will definitely visit again next time we're in the area. ”

“ My friend and I visited on the Monday night which is Eighty Eight's taster Menu night. It's 5 courses for £25 per person. The food was rich and delicious, small shaing plates but it was definitely enough for 2 people...although a dessert each would have just been the best as it was absolutely delicious! The photo's are better doing the talking but the pasta (red pepper pesto) and the goats cheese custard with fennel bread were my personal highlights... and of course the chocolate dessert which I just wish there had been more of. I'd definitely go back but would like to try the wine list next time! ”

“ Almost a five! The formula is spot on - buzzing vibe, interesting menu, dare to try something different, great staff (even if they are the victim of their own success). 'Small plates in a small restaurant' - yes, a bit on the cramped side. Food was interesting and generally excellent. Not quite sure about all the wine pairings. Reasonable value. Bottom line, absolutely would recommend and look forward to returning. ”
